David N. Buchalter, MD, attended Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and received his medical degree in 1983. Then, he served his internship at St Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center (1983 – 1984), residency in general surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel (1984 – 1985), and orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City (1985 – 1990). In addition, he completed fellowship training in joint replacement surgery, sports medicine, and trauma surgery. He spent time studying throughout Europe and was involved in some of the early research on cartilage transplant and cartilage regeneration procedures. Dr. Buchalter is considered an expert in hip and knee reconstructive surgery and is experienced in hip fractures, knee arthroscopy, hip joint arthroplasty, hip and knee traumatology, and knee reconstruction. Dr. Buchalter received board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS).
